Literacy Tutoring

Facilitated by Jennifer

Jennifer is a certified Wilson Reading Tutor and has a background in elementary education. She spent her first 5 years in the classroom teaching in a specialized program that supported literacy and math development. Presently, she provides literacy tutoring using the Wilson Reading System, an instructional approach recognized by the International Dyslexia Association.

Based on principals of Orton Gillingham, Wilson Reading System provides a structured, explicit, and multisensory approach to literacy instruction and is designed to meet the needs of learners at all levels. Lessons follow a step by step, scaffolded sequence that builds phonemic awareness, decoding skills, encoding skills, sight word recognition, fluency, vocabulary and reading comprehension. Sessions are delivered 1:1 and run 75 minutes in length. For optimal progress, two sessions a week are recommended.

  • Children who may be dyslexic, struggling readers or who would benefit from extra encouragement, skill-building, or confidence in literacy.

  • Each 60-minute session is personalized to your child’s needs following the Wilson Reading System. All materials are provided.

  • $125 per 1-hour session

Payment is made directly to Jennifer at the time of your appointment.

Neurofeedback Sessions

Facilitated by Jennifer

Zengar Neurofeedback is an advanced “dynamic” brain-training technology that supports your brain’s natural ability to regulate itself. During a session, sensors placed on your scalp pick up your brain’s electrical activity (EEG) and send it to a computer in real time. The system continuously analyzes these signals and detects subtle shifts in your brain patterns, then feeds the information back to the brain in the form of small interruptions in music or visuals. These gentle cues invite your brain to self-correct, helping your brain reorganize and move toward a more flexible, balanced pattern of functioning over time.

The experience is non-invasive and largely automatic. It requires no conscious effort - simply relax and let your brain do the work as the software responds to the moment-to-moment changes in brain patterns.

    • During a session, small sensors are placed on your scalp and ears to monitor brainwave activity.

    • The system analyzes this activity thousands of times per second.

    • Whenever the brain’s patterns become unstable or inefficient, the software provides immediate feedback—usually through small pauses or changes in the music or visuals you’re listening to.

    • The brain detects these interruptions and naturally adjusts itself toward a more stable and efficient state.

This process happens automatically—there’s no effort, focus, or conscious control required. You simply relax and let your brain do the work.

  • Wear comfortable clothing and arrive a few minutes early.
