At Shine Art Studio, we offer therapeutic art-making experiences for children, families, and individuals of all ages in Edmonton. Through the art process, we nurture self-expression, build emotional resilience, and invite the joy of creativity—no artistic skill required.

Little Makers (Drop-off)

Rooted in art therapy principles, Little Makers is an art program designed for young children to play, create, and explore their emotions through art. With a blend of outdoor play, sensory-rich materials, and heart-led art-making, children build confidence, develop resilience, and express their feelings in a nurturing environment.

Class Details: 

  • Who: Children ages 4–6 (independently using the washroom)

  • Supports: Confidence · Emotional literacy · Social development

  • Format: 6-week session (6 classes total)

  • Each Class Includes: Welcome · Art-making · Reflection · Outdoor play

  • When: Mondays 10:00–11:30 AM · April 27–June 8, 2026

  • Class Size: 16 Children, supported by 2 Art Therapists (Jennifer + Amy)

  • Cost:

    • One class per week — $260 (6-week session)

Little Makers + Parent

Little Makers Parented is a sensory-rich program designed for little ones and their caregivers to create together. From swirling paint to squishing clay, these experiences foster attachment, regulation, and shared wonder.

Class Details:

  • Who: Children ages 1.5–5 with their grown-up

  • Supports: Bonding · Co-regulation · Sensory development

  • Format: 6-week session (6 classes total)

  • Each Class Includes: Welcome · Art-making · Reflection · Outdoor play

  • When: Thursdays 10:00–11:30 AM · April 30–June 11, 2026

  • Class Size: 12 Children + 1 grown-up, supported by 2 Art Therapists (Jennifer + Amy)

  • Cost:

    • One class per week — $260 (6-week session)

Note: Siblings under 1.5 are welcome to attend free of charge.

After-School Art Hive (Drop-in)

This after-school drop-in program, running for May and June, gives kids a cozy space to unwind after the school day, connect with others, and create at their own pace.

Materials are open-ended and process-based so children can experiment, make choices and follow their own ideas and curiosity while feeling supported in our space.

Drop in anytime between 3:00 and 5:00 PM.

Class Details:

  • Who: Children ages 7–12

  • Supports: Emotional wellness · Confidence · Creativity · Community

  • Format: Drop in

  • Each Class Includes: Creative activity · Optional reflection

  • Class Size: 14 children, supported by 2 Art Therapists (Jennifer & Amy)

  • When: Thursdays 3:00-5:00 PM · May 7–June 18 (no class May 28)

  • Cost:

    • Introductory Pricing: $30 per Drop-in Class

Baby & Me (Coming Soon)

This gentle, supportive circle offers time to rest, reflect, and create. Through simple art invitations and shared stories, this class nurtures both parent and baby in the early days of connection.

Class Details:

  • Who: Parents or caregivers with babies (pre-crawling to early walking)

  • Supports: Self-care · Bonding · Creative reflection

  • Format: 8-week session · Meets weekly

  • Each Class Includes: Welcome · Art invitation · Quiet time · Closing circle

  • When: Coming in the Fall 2026

  • Cost: $295

Art Experiences Beyond the Studio

Shine also partners with schools, organizations, and community groups to deliver sensory-rich, art therapy–informed programming for children, teens, and adults. These outreach programs bring Shine’s supportive, inclusive approach beyond the studio walls, creating nurturing spaces for emotional expression and creative exploration.
